Masks aff!

May 17th, 2023 by Dr Wheeler

I’m sure a lot of you will pleased to hear that masks are no longer mandatory in the majority of Scottish health care settings.

This will help aid communication and reduce waste… but we totally understand if some people are still worried about catching COVID when coming to see us.

If you would prefer to wear a mask during a consultation, that is perfectly fine. If you would like the clinician who is seeing you to wear one as well, that is not a problem either – just ask.

If you are coming in with a respiratory illness (any kind of cough / cold / sore throat for example) it might be a good idea to wear a mask when you come anyway. This would be a helpful courtesy to other patient’s in the waiting room and the clinicians who will be seeing you.
